Interesting things about JFK you did not know:

When you hear about John Fitzgerald Kennedy commonly JFK, you think about how the 35th United States president was assassinated. A closer look at the private life of the former president reveals the man was not your ordinary person. Was he even fit to hold office of the most powerful person in the world, my answer would be no, but yes, he was the US president. As a young man, JFK had many health problems, brought up by an adulterous father and a mother who kept worrying about his son’s sickness. How JFK managed to keep his private life a secret from the American media and public remains an intriguing issue to many people. Latest revelation of his promiscuous behaviors has led to mixed reactions on the real JFK. Below are some facts you will ever read about John, F. Kennedy. 1. Suffered health problems since childhood: The former president was diagnosed with Addison disease at a very young age. He spent much of his young life on drugs such as painkillers while at the same time battling digestion problems he often suffered from. His mother was ever worried that his young son would never grow to maturity. Throughout his adult life, he suffered from nasty venereal diseases, infected his wife and his long line of lovers. It is said that JFK believed having sex with different strange women was the only way he could cure his re-occurring migraines. He was such a nasty president I guess. 2. Was a drug addict: When JFK ran and won the American presidency, he was afraid his poor health would fail him. He hid his health problems from the public throughout his life; probably had the public known of his problems, Kennedy would never have been nominated leave alone elected as the US president. He suffered from insomnia, back pains sustained during the 2nd World War, as a result, he used energy boosting drugs to relief him off from his pain and agony. He had a prescription from his doctor to take testosterone in order to build his muscles. However, the drug cannot be blamed for his adulterous life. His addiction began long time ago when he was young; he used corticosteroids for his Addison disease, painkillers for his back injuries, antibiotics for urinary tract infection, antispasmodic for his colitis problems and antihistamines to control his allergies. 3. Compulsive womanizer: The latest emergence of JFK extra marital affairs was a bitter pill to swallow to majority of the Americans. It is hard to know where the problem started and was it as a result of the prescribed testosterone and other energy boosting drugs. The former president is accused of a secret first marriage with movie stars such as Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe. He is also accused of having White House flings with an intern and event press secretary to his wife. JFK was described as a compulsive womanizer whose insatiable sex desires was fueled by personal traumas he had faced early in his life such as an adulterous father and an anxious mother. 4. Nobody was charged for his assassination: Lee Harvey Oswald the man who was arrested 70 minutes after JFK was assassinated never had a chance for a full trial. His arrest was based on evidence given that he had shot an officer in Dealy Plaza. He was arrested and charged with murder of the officer and assassination of the president. However, as he was being transferred from the Dallas Police Headquarter to the County Jail, Oswald was fatally shot and wounded. He was taken unconscious to Parkland Memorial Hospital the same hospital JFK had been taken hours earlier. Efforts to save his life proved futile, he died before he could plead to murder charges or probably bring an opening in discovering who killed JFK and why. 5. Killing the president was not a federal crime: Although several US presidents had been assassinated or attempts had been made on their lives, the American lawmakers had not seen the need to make it a federal crime to kill the president or the vice president. The warren commission after investigating and hearing provided evidence on the president’s assassination; it recommended it be classified as a federal crime to kill either the president or his vice president. It is surprising how ignorant the American law makers were given that JFK was not the first president to be assassinated. 6. He wasn’t a native American: Although born in Massachusetts in the 1917 in a family of nine children, his four grandparents were children of immigrants from Ireland. At 43, JFK was the youngest president to be elected in the 20th century. His grandfather John F. Fitzgerald was the first Boston mayor born to Irish immigrants; his election paved way and created a foundation for JFK rise to presidency. He was the only Roman Catholic to have ever been elected as the US president and lastly, the only president to have won a Pulitzer award. While Kennedy was regarded as one of the best US presidents, latest revelations of his private life has led to mixed reactions with some describing him as a maniac, adulterer and a betrayer who never deserved to lead the US.
